Yellow leaves are not all thirst

Yellow leaves are not all thirst. What is in front of you is a yellow leaf on an otherwise firm plant.

Do it in order

Handle it this way: look at the soil and the newest growth before you water. Wash the tool when you move to the next plant.

The usual miss

People lose cuttings and seedlings to water added because a leaf turned yellow. Slow down there.

Finished means you know whether the pot is wet or dry. If you are guessing, water less than you want to and look again tomorrow.

This sits in "Soil and water", written as a garden note rather than a catalog.

A garden note, not a promise that a plant will thrive. Look again in a week.
