Repot when roots circle, not when you are bored

Repot when roots circle, not when you are bored. What is in front of you is roots at the drainage hole.

Do it in order

Handle it this way: repot one size up in the season the plant grows. Wash the tool when you move to the next plant.

The usual miss

People lose cuttings and seedlings to a much larger pot and a lot of wet mix. Slow down there.

Finished means the new pot is only a little wider. If you are guessing, water less than you want to and look again tomorrow.

This sits in "Windowsills", written as a garden note rather than a catalog.

A garden note, not a promise that a plant will thrive. Look again in a week.
